What is markup and how do I set it up in my shop?
Markup is the amount of money you receive when you sell a model in the Marketplace. As the owner of the model/shop, you can decide exactly how much money you would like to receive for your product.
On each model's "Edit Product" page, you'll be able to set markup in the "Pricing & Model Files" section. Changing the "total price" to any number above the base price will add markup to your model:
In the example above, the base price (or the cost of producing the model) is $40.14, the total price for a customer is set to $63.00. This means the shop owner will receive $22.86 in markup each time they sell the model.
If your model is available in multiple materials, you can set a different total price for each material individually.
When do I get paid?
Markup is paid out via PayPal on the 15th of every month, and are distributed in USD ($). If you do not have a PayPal account that can accept payments from the United States or the Netherlands, we will be unable to pay or hold your markup. Markups are paid out when the total amount, minus a 3.5% processing fee, earned is greater than $30.
Markup is added to your account as soon as an item has shipped. Your payout will include all markup that has been attributed by 11:59pm UTC on the 14th. If a model you've sold is shipped on the 15th or later, the markup will be included in the next month's payout.
If you have accrued less than $30 in markup, you will not receive a payout. Instead, your markup will remain accrued in your account until you reach the minimum payout threshold.
Setting up your Shop to receive payments
To be eligible for payments, you'll have to complete all of the information requested in the "Getting Paid" section of your Shop Settings. This includes:
- Billing Address
- PayPal Email Address
Please keep in mind that we cannot convert Markup to store credit or pay it directly to your bank account. It can only be paid out via PayPal.
