What are the upload limitations?

Shapeways Upload Limitations

1. File Size Limit

   • The file must be smaller than 64 MB.

2. Polygon Count Limit

   • The model should contain fewer than 1 million polygons.
     If your model exceeds this, you may need to reduce the polygon count or compress the file.

3. Accepted File Types
   Shapeways supports the following 3D file formats:

   • DAE, OBJ, STL, X3D, X3DB, X3DV, WRL, 3MF, STP, and STEP.

4. Textured Models

   • For full-color prints, upload a ZIP folder containing both the 3D model and texture file in the following formats:
     • 3D files: OBJ, MTL, DAE, WRL, X3D, X3DB, X3DV
     • Texture files: GIF, JPG, PNG
   • The ZIP folder should only contain these files—no extra folders inside.

5. Model Rescaling

   • You can upload your model in any unit of measurement. Shapeways allows rescaling later if necessary.
